Martin Painting will do the opposite, here is the right way to do it and the only way Martin know how:

  • We will remove our shoes before we set foot in your house

  • Once we are in, we will proceed to place all of your furniture in the center of the room

  • If  you have hard wood floors, we will cover them with rose paper and tape

  • If you have carpets, we will cover them with clean drop cloth

  • All switch plates will be removed and all electrical outlets will be covered with tape

  • If  the doors and windows need to be painted, we will remove all door knobs and hard ware from all windows prior to painting

  • All furniture will be fully covered with plastic

  • Cabinets will be fully covered with plastic

  • Chandeliers will be wrapped around with plastic

  • Finally we are ready to start preparing your home

  • All nail pops, cracks, holes, drips from previous paint jobs, marks from bad Spackle jobs, roller lines, sheet rock seams, etc. We will repair them all. We will use a halogen light that will help us spot all of those hidden problems and bring them to light so that we can repair them for you

  • We will repair and Spackle all nail pops, tape and Spackle all cracks, skim coat all sheet rock seams, drips and roller marks, etc

  • Sanding all Spackle areas to a smooth and feather finish so that you are not able to tell that there was ever a Spackle job or repair

  • Apply one coat of primer on all the walls so that there will not be any shine spots on the walls from the Spackle. Also, the primer is a grate inhibitor that helps bond and grab the new paint making it stick more to the surface. It also helps to create a more uniform finish on the walls

  • All woodwork will be lightly sanded

  • We will caulk all open gaps or wood joints around all woodwork

  • Putty any nail holes on the woodwork

  • Apply two coats of paint on all ceilings

  • Apply two coats of paint on all walls

  • Apply two coats of paint on all woodwork

  • Finally we will clean up after the paint job is completed

  • Remove all plastics, drop cloths, paper, etc

  • All furniture will go back in place or re positioned at the home owner's request

  • All switch plates will be put back in place

  • All door knobs and hard ware from all windows will be put back in place

We hope you have enjoyed the Martin Painting experience.
